Rodionenko doubted the admission of athletes to the Olympics after the World Wrestling Championships
KAZAN, September 19 – RIA Novosti, Adela Ziatdinova. The performance of Russian wrestlers at the World Championships in Belgrade does not give hope that athletes from Russia will be able to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, senior coach of the Russian artistic gymnastics team Valentina Rodionenko told RIA Novosti.
Russians and Belarusians were allowed to participate in the World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, where Olympic licenses were given, with neutral status. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has not yet announced the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
On March 28, the IOC Executive Committee recommended that international federations allow Russians who do not support the CBO to compete as neutral athletes. The organization also suggested denying participation in team disciplines to athletes affiliated with the armed forces and security agencies, as well as national teams.
