Goldobin’s quintet of assists helped Spartak beat Barys in the KHL match
MOSCOW, September 21 – RIA Novosti. Moscow “Spartak” defeated Astana “Barys” in the regular championship match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
The match in Moscow ended with a score of 6:3 (2:1, 2:1, 2:1) in favor of the home team. Among the winners, the goals were scored by Michal Czajkowski (10th minute), Pavel Poryadin (14), Egor Savikov (34), Alexander Pashin (38), Andrei Loktionov (45) and Shane Prince (51). The guest team’s goals were scored by Ansar Shaikhmeddenov (18), Emil Nurgaliev (37) and Joseph Labate (54).

Spartak forward Nikolai Goldobin had five assists. The 27-year-old hockey player returned to the first place in the list of top scorers of the current championship, scoring 14 points (8 goals and 6 assists) in 9 matches this season. Goldobin became the second player in Spartak history to score five points in a KHL game and the ninth hockey player in league history to make five assists in a game. The record for most assists in a match belongs to former Traktor Chelyabinsk defender Ryan Gunderson, who made 6 assists in the 2014/15 season.
The Red-Whites collected 11 points from 9 matches and rose to fifth place in the Western Conference rankings. Barys ranks tenth in the East with 7 points after 8 matches. In the next match, Spartak will host Chelyabinsk Traktor on October 23, and the Kazakh club will play away against Sibir Novosibirsk on the same day.
