Estadio Deportivo: Former Manchester United player de Gea is in talks with Betis
MOSCOW, November 10 – RIA Novosti. According to Estadio Deportivo, Spanish football club Betis is in talks with Manchester United’s former English goalkeeper David de Gea.
According to the publication, the Spanish team plans to add the goalkeeper to its squad during the winter transfer window. Betis sporting director Ramon Planes reportedly held a meeting with De Gea recently and both parties showed interest in reaching an agreement.
Previously, the media reported that De Gea may end his sports career if he does not receive an offer to become the main goalkeeper of one of the leading football clubs. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has rejected numerous offers, including offers from Saudi Arabia, and money is not the main requirement for the Spaniard. It was noted that the goalkeeper wants to play in a club that can compete for high awards.
De Gea was transferred to Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2011. The goalkeeper, who played 545 games for the Red Devils, won the Europa League champion, the English champion, the National Cup champion, the English League Cup twice and the FA Super Cup three times.
According to media reports, the Real Madrid goalkeeper will be away from the fields for 2-3 weeks.
