Minsk “Stroitel” will take part in the Russian championship in volleyball among men’s teams
MOSCOW, June 24 – RIA Novosti. According to the official website of the team, the Minsk volleyball club “Stroitel” will take part in the Russian championship among men’s teams in the 2022/23 season.
“Stroitel” became the first Belarusian professional men’s volleyball team to participate in one of the strongest championships in the world, in the 2011/12 season. In 2013, Belarus was represented at the championship by the Shakhtar team (Salihorsk). Then, for about 10 years, Belarusian teams did not play in the Russian Open Championship Super League among men.
In March, the International Volleyball Federation banned all teams, clubs and officials from Russia and Belarus from participating in international competitions, including beach and snow volleyball, due to the worsening of Russian-Ukrainian relations.
