Fisht’s head about beer in the stadium: Zenit organized the match with Red Star
MOSCOW, July 5 – RIA Novosti, Sergey Fuks. Veniamin Bogomolov, head of the Sochi Fisht arena, told RIA Novosti, the organizer of the friendly match between the Serbian “Crvena Zvezda” and the beer-selling “Zenith”, St. Petersburg club.
The match between Zenit and Red Star (2:1) was played on 3 July in Sochi. Before the match, alcoholic beers from various manufacturers were sold at the Fisht stadium.
He added, “How do I feel about selling beer in arenas? There are some questions ‘for’ and ‘against’. It is better to ask the fans, not the stadium staff.
In Russia, the sale of beer in stadiums has been prohibited since 2005. In December 2021, the State Duma approved, at the first reading, a bill on the sale of beer in stadiums, lifting the ban on the retail sale of beer and beer drinks during official football competitions, excluding youth sports.
In May, as an experiment in Moscow, until December 31, 2022, the ban on the retail sale of alcoholic products with an ethyl alcohol content of not more than 16.5% in sports facilities was lifted.
