Averbukh: Shcherbakova was worried, but the figure skater’s performance did not leave anyone indifferent

Olympic champion in figure skating Anna Shcherbakova enthusiastically started her debut performance at the ice show in Sochi, but she managed to cope with the difficulties and aroused lively emotions among the public, Ilya Averbukh, a well-known choreographer and vice-champion of the 2002 Games, told RIA Novosti.
Shcherbakova, winner of the Beijing Olympics in single skating on Friday, took the stage at the “Champions” gala performance in Sochi.
“Anya, along with other champions, also participated in the group number – Zhenya Medvedeva, Zhenya Tarasova, Oksana DomninaSasha Stepanova, Maria Petrova…, – added the agency’s source. – And this composition was also received brilliantly. Upon completion of the program, Anya was overwhelmed with impressions. Before the show started, he was quite worried, it was felt. Anya was delighted that she managed to cope and complete all the difficult jumps. She loves our team and she said it was very comfortable to perform with everyone. The show was a huge success and all the kids are inspired.”
