Montreal signs #1 rookie NHL pick Slafkovsky
MOSCOW, 13 July – RIA Novosti. The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Montreal Canadiens have signed with Slovak forward Juraj Slafkovsky, according to the team’s official website.
Slafkovsky was selected by Montreal for first place in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old has signed a three-year rookie contract.
Slovak spent last season in the Finnish TPS. He scored 10 points (5 goals + 5 assists) in 38 games. At the Beijing Olympics, Slafkovsky was recognized as the most valuable player of the hockey tournament. Slovakia team won the bronze medal.
Seattle Cracken also has a 2022 No. 4 picks signed Shane Wright to a three-year rookie contract. According to the league’s central scouting office, the 18-year-old Wright was considered the favorite and should have been picked at number one.
