Mercedes driver Russell wins Formula 1 qualification for the first time in his career
MOSCOW, July 30 – RIA Novosti. British driver “Mercedes” George Russell qualified for the 13th stage of the “Formula 1” Hungarian Grand Prix, which took place on the “Hungaroring” circuit.
Russell’s result is 1 minute 17,377 seconds. The pole was the first for Mercedes this season and the first of Russell’s career. Spanish Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz (+0.044) took second place. Third place was Monegasque teammate Charles Leclerc (+0.190).
Seven-time world champion Briton Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes showed the seventh result (+0.765). The reigning world champion Red Bull’s Max Verstappen of the Netherlands ran into technical problems in his decisive attempt, his car lost power. Verstappen has it for the tenth time (+1,466).
Also in the top 10 were: 4. Lando Norris (Great Britain, McLaren, +0.392), 5. Esteban Ocon (France, Alpin, +0.641), 6. Fernando Alonso (Spain, Alpin, +0.701) .. 8. Valtteri Bottas (Finland, Alfa Romeo, +0.780), 9. Daniel Ricciardo (Australia, McLaren, +1.002).
The Hungarian Grand Prix will be held on 31 July. Start – 16:00 Moscow time.
