Post: Halle Berry broke bones: how MMA stars conquered cinema

Categories

Former UFC double division champion Conor McGregor has been out of the field for a year. However, it doesn’t seem like he missed the Irish octagon. The other day, Deadline reported the big news: He was cast in an updated version of the infamous 1989 American action movie Road House. On set, the MMA star will be able to meet famous actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who will play a former UFC fighter and security guard at a bar in Florida. Conor will appear not as a cameo, but as a full-fledged character in the movie.

Why not remember other famous representatives of mixed martial arts who have tested themselves as professional actors?

Ronda Rousey

The main girl in MMA history, UFC pioneer Ronda Rousey retired from professional sports after losing her last two fights by knockout. A terrible ending for an American… But fortunately it had no effect on Rosie’s stock. Rhonda is happily married, lit up in wrestling and continues to add to the list of films with her participation. So far, he has starred in the blockbuster hits “The Expendables” (UFC icon Randy Couture co-stars) and “Fast and the Furious” as well as “The Blind Zone” and “911”.

The smiling beauty that conquered millions never appeared in MMA. In addition, the American lost the main battle of her career (against Cris Cyborg), but does this upset Gina? Not at all. The girl opened in Hollywood, appeared in the sixth episode of “Fast and the Furious” and “Blood Revenge”, and also graced the sensational “Deadpool” and the popular TV series “The Mandalorian” with her charm.

The UFC champion became close friends with Hollywood star Halle Berry. Bullet played with him in the movie “Insult”, where there was a difficult struggle between the characters of his friends.

As Berry later admitted, he was found to have several fractures after the “fight”. And this despite the fact that Valentina maximally limits the power and speed of the punches.

Georges St-Pierre

One of the greatest fighters in MMA history has repeatedly confessed his love for cinema. Is it any wonder that the athlete’s media and good looks helped the Canadian seven times to be on the other side of the camera? Saint-Pierre was even invited to the Avengers series (Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series).

And here is the last competitor of ZhSP. Former UFC middleweight champion, League Hall of Famer Bisping has appeared in several action movies. The loudest appearance in the frame of the one-eyed Count is due to the creators of the movie “Three X’s: World Domination”, in which Vin Diesel shines.

Oleg Taktarov

Russian has long gone beyond the world of MMA. Almost a hundred movies! Among them are the stylish action films of the 2000s (“National Treasure”, “Bad Boys 2”) and new projects that the legend does not shy away from, opening up to experimentation. So, in 2021, Taktarov appeared, playing the role of General in The Little Humpback Horse (in the photo the athlete is far left).

Inspired by the work of Vladimir Vysotsky, the AMC Fight Nights champion starred in his first movie in 2019, but due to the pandemic, the Russian Raid crime thriller was only released in October 2020. The athlete’s play was noted, and he was called up for the main role in the sports drama “Bull Terrier”.

Magomed Ismailov

TNT channel will never regret inviting Magi to the TV series “Real Boys”. The domestic middleweight both attracted the audience and set social networks on fire with his “conflict” with Kolyan, and again revealed himself on the cameras as a bright showman who was no worse than a cage.

Turning to Conor McGregor, we note that the long-term flagship of the UFC is already familiar to the film industry. In 2017, a “documentary” was released about Rezil. Given the frenzied hype surrounding his Irish image at the time, thanks to Dana White’s two league belts and cash superfight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., we can agree that McGregor is doing well here, too.

The picture received positive ratings and, as expected, pleased both Conor fans and sports fans in general.
