Krylov thanks Sochi coach Nazarov for teaming up for Avangard
SOCI, August 8 – RIA Novosti, Andrey Senchenko. Alexander Krylov, chairman of the board of directors of Omsk Avangard, told reporters that he is grateful to Andrei Nazarov, head coach of the Sochi hockey club, for the fights in the pre-season tournament match in Sochi. The Omsk team will unite.
Avangard defeated Sochi 6-4 on Thursday. The first period of the match saw many fights involving hockey players from both teams. Sochi striker Artem Ivanyuzhenkov and Avangard defender Christian Yarosh fought twice and was punished with disciplinary action until the end of the match.
In 2018, Avangard’s home ground was declared unsafe and construction of a new stadium began in its place. For the past four seasons the club has been based in Balashikha, near Moscow. The club will play the first home game of the upcoming KHL season on 1 October.
