Knock out Usman loses lead in overall UFC rankings
MOSCOW, August 23 – RIA Novosti. Losing by knockout, Nigerian-American Kamaru Usman lost his lead in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranking, regardless of weight category, which was published on the updated promotion site.
On Sunday night, Briton Leon Edwards knocked Usman in the head in the heavyweight championship game. Now, regardless of weight category, the UFC rating is headed by Australian featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. Middleweight title holder Israel Adesanya from New Zealand is second on the list, and Brazil’s Charles Oliveira is third. Usman dropped to fourth place.
After winning the title, Edwards moved up to sixth place in the standings, so the former champion of the organization in the smallweight division, Russian Petr Yan, fell to 14th place, previously 13th place.
