MOSCOW, August 24 – RIA Novosti. The players of Serbian “Crvena Zvezda” drew with Israel’s “Maccabi” (Haifa) in the second match of the Champions League qualifying round and could not advance to the group stage of the tournament.

The match in Belgrade ended with the score of 2:2. Aleksandar Pesic (27th minute) and Mirko Ivanic (43) scored from the home teams. The away goal was scored by Crvena Zvezda player Milan Pavkov (90) by Daniel Sundgren (45+5), who scored an own goal. Football player “Maccabi” Dolev Haziza did not notice a penalty in the added time of the first half.
In the first match, “Maccabi” won with a score of 3:2. The team advanced to the group stage of the Champions League. “Red Star” will play in the group stage of the Europa League. The group draw will take place on August 25 in the Champions League and on August 26 in the Europa League.
The participation of Russian teams in European competitions was suspended by the decision of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
