IOC postpones 2030 venue selection session

MOSCOW, September 8 – RIA Novosti, Andrey Simonenko. IOC communications director Mark Adams told reporters that the meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which will determine the location of the 2030 Winter Olympics, has been postponed.

At a press conference after the first day of the race, Adams said, “The IOC session to decide on the 2030 Olympics has been postponed from May to September 2023. Whether the session will be held in Mumbai will be determined later.” IOC Executive Board meeting.

A final warning has been given to the Indian National Olympic Committee (NOC) that the session should actually take place.

“Due to ongoing internal disputes and litigation, the IOC Board has issued a final warning to the NOC of India,” said James McLeod, Director of Olympic Solidarity and National Olympic Committee Relations.

Canadian Vancouver and Whistler, Japanese Sapporo and American Salt Lake City have all reported their desire to host the 2030 Olympics.
