State Duma spokesman Volodin described Poland’s idea of receiving compensation from Russia as the rehabilitation of fascism
MOSCOW, September 16 – RIA Novosti. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin commented Polish President Andrzej Duda’s World War II
“The statement of the President of Poland rehabilitates fascism, insults the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Polish people. It is right that the supervisory authorities examine Andrzej Duda’s testimony and take appropriate measures to bring him to criminal liability,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
This week, the Polish Sejm overwhelmingly passed a resolution seeking approximately $1.3 trillion in compensation from Germany. Duda supported this idea and said that similar claims should be submitted to Russia.
Other Polish politicians have repeatedly made similar statements. A few years ago, Yaroslav Kaczynski, head of the Law and Justice party, said that Moscow, like Berlin, was in World War II. He said he had to pay compensation to Warsaw for damages in World War II. And Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Yablonsky spoke of Warsaw’s “unconditional right” to receive compensation from Russia.
Polish authorities have long fought the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany during World War II. They accuse him of starting World War II. In Russia, this approach is called an attempt to distort history.
