NYT: Kyiv-controlled Soledar residents distrust APU and refuse to evacuate
MOSCOW, September 19 – RIA Novosti. Residents of Soledar in the Ukrainian-controlled DPR region refuse to comply with Kiev’s order to evacuate the city, Wrote New York Times reporter Jeffrey Gettleman.
According to him, this is due to the growing mutual distrust between the civilian population and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, Andrey Marochko, an officer of the LPR People’s Militia, said that the allied forces systematically liberated Soledar. In particular, they made several successful attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artemivsk region, as a result of which the enemy suffered huge losses.
On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin described this as the ultimate goal of the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee Russia’s security.
