Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan accused the Armenian side of bombarding the positions of the Azerbaijani army in three border regions from the evening of September 22 to the morning of September 23.

On the night of September 13, hostility broke out on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, and the parties accused each other of escalating the atmosphere. Yerevan stated that the Azerbaijani army bombed the territory of Armenia using artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles. The border areas – Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, Syunik (connecting Armenia with Iran) were bombed. These lands have nothing to do with Karabakh. Baku reported that the Armenian army opened fire on the positions of the Azerbaijani troops on the border, and a conflict broke out. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Armenia of intent to disrupt the peace process. Both sides reported missing among their soldiers.

A ceasefire on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been achieved thanks to Russian efforts, including after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the international committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Grigory Karasin, told RIA Novosti. and the work of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Russian Foreign Ministry. As CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov said earlier, on September 13, an emergency meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council was held, expressing extreme concern about the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and considering proposals to use CSTO mechanisms for a solution. On Tuesday, the CSTO Collective Security Council agreed to send a delegation of the organization to Armenia, headed by the organization’s Secretary-General Stanislav Zas.
