Permanent representative of Crimea Muradov: referendums form a new contour in the south of Russia

SIMFEROPOL, September 23 – RIA Novosti. The Permanent Representative of Crimea to the President of Russia, Georgy Muradov, said that the referendums to be held in the Donbass people’s republics and the liberated areas of Ukraine will initiate a broader process of creating new lines of Russia’s southern borders. .

The referendum on accession to Russia in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions began on Friday. Voting will run for five days until September 27.

“This is just the beginning of a large and complex process in which the outlines of Russia’s southern borders will be formed. For the population of Novorossia, this means a return to their homeland of civilization, a different level of quality of life and security. Muradov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, these lands, traditionally closely associated with the Crimea and once part of the Russian province of Taurida and the Novorossiya region, entered the path of reunification with their historical homeland.

“There is no doubt that residents of the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye region and Kherson region will vote to join Russia. Numerous opinion polls confirm this,” the permanent representative said.

The referendum on accession to Russia began on Friday in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Voting will continue for five days until September 27.

The public immediately attempted to hold a referendum on the regional authorities. According to the representatives of the republics and regions, joining Russia will secure its lands and restore historical justice. According to them, this decision is extremely necessary in the context of the constant terrorist acts by the nationalist authorities of Ukraine and NATO members, who supply weapons to kill civilians.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia will support the decision to be made by residents of the Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
