International observer Parr: People at the DPR showed up and asked to recognize the results of the vote
DONETSK, September 26 – RIA Novosti. William Parra, an international observer on the referendum in the DPR from Colombia, said that as a representative of the international community, he was asked about people at polling stations where he was asked to recognize the results of the vote to join Russia.
“People appealed to us as representatives of the international community with one request – to recognize the results of the vote as legitimate,” Parra said at a briefing.
According to him, he was in a series of ballot boxes and saw how people voted despite the bombardment.
The referendum on accession to Russia began on Friday in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Voting will continue for five days until September 27.
The public immediately attempted to hold a referendum on the regional authorities. According to the representatives of the republics and regions, joining Russia will secure its lands and restore historical justice. According to them, this decision is extremely necessary in the context of the constant terrorist acts by the nationalist authorities of Ukraine and NATO members, who supply weapons to kill civilians.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia will support the decision to be made by residents of the Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
