Ambassador Antonov says Biden’s adviser was unaware of his warning to the Russian leadership
MOSCOW, October 6 – RIA Novosti. Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov declarationUS national security adviser Joe Biden said he was unaware of Jake Sullivan’s warning to the Russian leadership and would have rejected it if it had such tone.
Earlier, US President’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said in an interview with ABC TV that the US “directly privately” warned the Russian leadership of the “catastrophic” consequences of the use of nuclear weapons for the Russian Federation. In the conflict in Ukraine and promised to respond “strongly” to such a step.
“As for the kind of warning Jake Sullivan gave to the Russian leadership, I don’t know about it, but I firmly believe that we will not be justified for our actions in Ukraine. I myself, if I attend this meeting, we reject such a tone, such a tone from the American side about our actions,” he said.
He stressed that Moscow is ready to talk to Washington only on equal terms, but also added that if someone tries to undermine the foundations of the Russian Federation, revenge will be inevitable.
