MEXICO CITY, 7 October – RIA Novosti. About a third of the Organization of American States (OAS) member states did not support the resolution condemning Russia’s actions in Ukraine – Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico.

In April, the OAS deprived Russia of permanent observer status because of a special operation in Ukraine.

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, USA, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.

He did not support the Russian government’s call to cease hostilities and withdraw military force and equipment from Ukraine, and refused to condemn allegations of human rights abuses in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Honduras, Dominica, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Russia launched a military operation against Ukraine on February 24. President Vladimir Putin described his goal as “protecting people who have been subjected to eight years of bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime.” For this, according to him, “the disarming and gentrification of Ukraine” is planned in order to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.

As the President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov has already emphasized, Russia categorically denies Kiev’s accusations of war crimes on Ukrainian soil. Moscow’s refusal to imply that some Western countries accuse the Russian military of violence against Ukraine’s civilian population was said earlier at a UN Security Council meeting by Russia’s deputy ambassador to the organization, Gennady Kuzmin.
