Medvedev held a meeting at the Avangard plant in Moscow on the implementation of the state defense order
MOSCOW, October 7 – RIA Novosti. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, visited the Moscow Avangard machine-building plant and held a meeting on the implementation of the state defense order.
“The enterprise occupies a leading position in the production of anti-aircraft missiles, complexes, anti-missile defense. Here there is a very serious state defense order. Now let’s talk about the additional tasks facing the enterprise,” said Medvedev. According to him, the tasks are related to expanding production and increasing the number of products produced.
Today, the Avangard plant rightfully occupies a leading position in the production of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense equipment. Since 2002 the business has been part of the Aerospace Defense Concern Almaz-Antey.
Also in the structure of the “AVANGARD” plant there is an engineering center engaged in the development of civilian products. Such products include tubular furnaces for heating oil in main oil pipelines, universal mobile pumping stations operating on the corresponding gas, designed for pumping water, oil, fuels and lubricants and acids, as well as mobile food stations (canteens) MPP-500.
JSC Concern VKO Almaz-Antey is one of the largest integrated troops of the Russian military-industrial complex, which includes more than 60 research institutes, design bureaus, industrial enterprises and service centers. The total number of employees of the holding is about 140 thousand people. Concern products are supplied to more than 50 countries of the world.
