Ukroboronprom: Kyiv carries out joint projects with NATO countries in the field of defense industry

MOSCOW, 13 November – RIA Novosti. Ostap Yednak, Deputy Director General of Ukroboronprom State Concern, said that Ukraine carries out joint projects in the defense industry with a number of NATO countries.

“Cooperation with the Republic of Poland is developing very strongly. More than five NATO countries have already started joint projects with us. This includes technology transfer, application and expansion of production,” Yednak said in the broadcast of the Ukraine-wide telethon.

According to him, this is not just “cooperation on existing types and types of weapons, but participation in joint innovations, because there is an opportunity to rapidly develop and implement new projects, developments in the field of weapons.”

Ukroboronprom and the Czech Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that they have created a defense cluster.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that Kiev is negotiating with Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic on the creation of repair centers for military equipment on its territory. According to him, complex and expensive repairs of modern military equipment are planned on the territory of the partner countries, and the minister expects small and simple current repairs to be carried out directly in combat formations or by Ukrainian enterprises.

Russia had previously sent a note to NATO countries for arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping weapons into Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
