Slutsky: Court decision in MH17 case politicized, no concrete evidence presented
MOSCOW, November 17 – RIA Novosti. Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, told RIA Novosti that the Hague court decision on the crash of the Malaysian Boeing MH17 was politicized, no substantial evidence was presented, it was impossible to agree with the decision.
“The decision was of course politicized and no one could disagree with it. Russian experts were never allowed to participate in the activities of the JIT (Joint Investigation Group – ed.) and Almaz-Antey’s calculations were simply ignored. No substantial evidence was presented,” he said.
On Thursday, The Hague District Court held a hearing at the Schiphol Judicial Complex, which read the verdict regarding the 2014 crash of the Malaysian Boeing (flight MH17) in eastern Ukraine.
The court found Russian Oleg Pulatov, who was the defendant in the MH17 accident case, not guilty and rejected the prosecutor’s request for detention. The other three defendants in the case – Russian Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky and Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko – were found guilty of destroying aircraft MH17 and killing 298 of its passengers.
