Advisor to the head of “Rosenergoatom” Karchaa announced that 12 attacks were carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the vicinity of the ZNPP.

MOSCOW, November 19 – RIA Novosti. Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of Rosenergoatom, said that Ukrainian soldiers opened fire around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, no one was injured. “Russia 24”.

“In the period from 17:15 to 17:41, there were 12 attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. We are not talking about the industrial zone, but around the plant. There were six arrivals in the spray pool – This is a cooling system. There were two arrivals in the square of the dry storage facilities for nuclear waste, and the checkpoint- There were three more flights to area 2,” he said.

Karchaa stressed that the area around the station had not been bombed since the end of September, and that today’s strike was huge.

“Everything went without loss of life, resulting in some damage and destruction,” he said.

The day before, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution calling on Russia to abandon the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and renounce “baseless claims” about ownership of the nuclear power plant. The text of the document has been ratified by 24 of 35 countries. Russia and China voted against, while Vietnam, India, Kenya, Namibia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Africa abstained. The Burundi and Libyan delegations did not participate in the voting.

As Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has stated, the approaches of the IAEA Board of Governors on the ZNPP do not reflect the truth. Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, described the decision adopted the previous day as unenforceable, since the nuclear power plant is located on Russian territory and has already become part of the energy system.

Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, near the town of Energodar. This is Europe’s largest plant in terms of number of units and installed capacity: it has six power units each with a capacity of one gigawatt. It has been under the protection of the Russian army since March. The State Department stressed that this step is necessary to prevent leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian army continues to regularly bombard both Energodar and the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant adjacent to the city.
