Zelenskiy said he had received signals from his Western partners that Russia wanted to hold direct talks and offered a public format. Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president’s press secretary, said Washington could do a lot if desired, including impressing Kiev in terms of greater cohesion.

Earlier, during an online speech at the G20 summit, Zelenskiy outlined his vision for steps to restore peace in Ukraine, which includes ten items. Peskov also said there would be no “”Minsk-3” at the G20, in a comment to RIA Novosti, saying that such remarks certainly confirm Kiev’s stance on its unwillingness to negotiate.
