The Financial Transition Government has banned France-funded NGOs from operating in the country.

MOSCOW, November 22 – RIA Novosti. The Financial Transition Government banned French-funded non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from operating in the country.

“The activities of all non-governmental organizations operating in Mali and receiving funding or financial or technical support from France are prohibited,” Mali’s transitional government said in a statement.

In the statement, it was noted that the ban decision is also valid for NGOs operating in the field of humanitarian aid.

In the spring, the Malian government announced that it would terminate defense agreements with France and urged France to withdraw troops participating in Operations Barkhane and Takuba. In July, France announced the official end of Operation Takuba, a joint operation with European allies to combat terrorism in Mali.
