In Moscow on the death of Cuban President Pablo Milanes: The greatest musician leaves
MOSCOW, November 22 – RIA Novosti. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez visiting Moscow, condolences in connection with the death of Pablo Milanes, the famous Cuban composer, singer, songwriter and one of the founders of the Cuban music movement “Nueva Trova”.
Earlier, EFE reported that Milanes died at the age of 77 after staying in hospital for more than a week in Madrid, where he has lived since 2017.
The “Nueva Trova” music movement arose in the early 60s-70s of the last century and combined traditional “trova” (author’s song) motifs, elements of jazz, rock and pop music, as well as the garde aesthetics of avant-garde and revolutionary movements.
Diaz-Canel arrived in Moscow on a working visit on Saturday evening. The program includes meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and participation in the opening of the monument erected in memory of the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro.
