Rosenergoatom: Zaporozhye NPP is reliably protected from artillery, but definitely not
MOSCOW, November 22 – RIA Novosti. The adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern said that the Zaporozhye NPP today is reliably protected from all types of artillery weapons. Renat Karca.
Last weekend – for the first time since the end of September – the Ukrainian army launched a massive bombardment of the station, firing more than 20 large-caliber artillery shells.
On Solovyov Live, Karchaa said, “The station is safely guarded today. The nuclear reactors are protected from all forms of artillery damage. However, this does not mean that the protection is absolute.” He stressed that Ukraine’s weekend attacks were among the heaviest and targeted critical infrastructure, which poses a major threat to nuclear security.
A day ago, the IAEA reported that the main equipment of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was not damaged in the last bombardment, the condition of six units of the station is stable.
