Senator Pushkov: Twitter policy under Elon Musk challenges ‘liberal dictatorship’
MOSCOW, November 23 – RIA Novosti. Senator Alexei Pushkov commented The words of the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, about the social network’s policy of blocking users.
Earlier, Musk said that under his leadership, the social network did not permanently block accounts and would not even “ban” the Associated Press for a “purely fictional” memo about Russian missiles falling on Poland.
“Basically, whatever position Musk takes on certain issues, he is challenging the vicious consensus and liberal dictatorship in the social networking world. I think the former head of Twitter (Jack. – ed.) Dorsey, (Donald. – ca. ed.) only ultra-liberal Trump, who supported an agenda and turned Twitter into an instrument of ideological dictatorship, is now vomiting,” Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Twitter had unblocked former US President Donald Trump’s account after a majority of those polled by Musk spoke out in favor. In November, US President Joe Biden criticized the social network especially after Twitter was bought by a businessman, claiming that it spread lies all over the world.
Twitter has blocked Trump’s accounts following the events of January 6, 2021, when Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to block congressional confirmation of Biden’s presidential election victory.
