Health Minister Koca: 22 people were injured in the earthquake in western Turkey
ANKARA, 23 November – RIA Novosti. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that 22 people were injured in the earthquake that occurred in Düzce, and the condition of 1 person was serious.
“The latest situation regarding the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Düzce at 04.08 (Moscow time): We have 22 injured in Düzce, one of them is due to heavy jumping. Necessary ambulance crews were sent to the city. We will share new information. Get well soon. “
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck western Turkey. The earthquake was recorded at 01.08 UTC (04.08 Moscow time). The epicenter of the tremors was 14 kilometers southeast of Düzce. The hearth lay at a depth of six kilometers. Süleyman Soylu, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, said that according to the first data, there were no casualties after the earthquake. Classes were suspended for one day in educational institutions in the region.
In an interview with TRT Haber TV channel, Soylu said, “There is no information about the victims at the moment. There is a seriously injured person jumping from the balcony in a panic in Düzce. The situation is calm.”
