Now the couple spends 105 euros per month on light. With a price increase of 401 percent, spouses will have nothing to live for. “We receive a minimum pension and we cannot pay such bills. I am afraid of the electricity bill next year,” said one of the retirees on the air.
Earlier, Austrian Energy Minister Leonore Gewessler had not ruled out the “most critical scenario” for the country’s winter energy supply. According to him, “big difficulties” in the energy sector are associated with the shutdown of a nuclear power plant in France, and “not enough gas, not enough”, including electricity generation.
After the start of special operations in Ukraine, the West’s increasing pressure on Moscow caused electricity, fuel and food prices to rise in Europe and the USA. Against the backdrop of the rise in fuel prices, especially gas, the industry in Europe has largely lost its competitive advantages, which also affects other sectors of the economy. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West and that the restrictions deal a serious blow to the entire world economy.
