Zas: CSTO Foreign Ministers did not agree with the inadmissibility of the Russian delegation to the OSCE Ministerial Council
YEREVAN, 23 November – RIA Novosti. The Secretary General of the Organization, Stanislav Zas, told reporters that the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO countries accepted a statement expressing their disagreement with the decision not to allow the Russian delegation to enter the OSCE Ministerial Council.
“Today, a statement regarding the activities of the OSCE was accepted by the Foreign Ministers of our states… The statement states that our Foreign Ministers do not collectively agree with the decision taken by the Polish OSCE Chairman-in-Office. He said it was impossible for him to attend the council meeting.
According to him, this decision harms the OSCE itself. Zas reminded that, contrary to a long tradition, the invitation was not sent to the CSTO either.
The decision of Poland, the current head of OSCE, to refuse Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s participation in the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers (CMFA) meeting in the city was learned earlier. Lodz on 1-2 December. The Russian delegation to the OSCE Council of Ministers will be headed by the OSCE Permanent Representative Alexander Lukashevich.
