The head of Ukraine’s UN mission, Kislitsa, is ridiculed at the permanent mission of Russia for an obscene gesture
UN, 24 November – RIA Novosti. Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, mocked the head of the Ukrainian mission, Sergei Kislitsa, who tried to insult Moscow by making an inappropriate gesture; A number of diplomats from other countries condemned the behavior of a colleague from Kiev.
On Wednesday, the Security Council held a meeting on Ukraine at the request of Kiev. Following him, Kislitsa commented on Twitter that listening to the representative of the Russian Federation was “one of the most terrible tasks”. The diplomat also wrote that a series of attacks on Ukrainian targets today “leave him no diplomatic options”. The recording was accompanied by a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt containing obscene language against the leadership of the Russian Federation, making an inappropriate gesture with his hand.
“Ladies and gentlemen, meet Sergey Olegovich Kislitsa, prominent Ukrainian diplomat, senior official of the Foreign Policy Service of Ukraine and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN! No Comments!” – Commented on Polyansky’s post.
A diplomat from another permanent mission, who requested anonymity, had a short conversation with RIA Novosti and commented on Kislitsa’s number: “My God! This is beyond anything!”
Some diplomats from other posts did not want to cite, but stated that they did not find this type of personal attack acceptable, especially by a diplomat.
By the way, it didn’t take long for the comments to come under Kislitsa’s Twitter post. “Still, it’s weird for a diplomat to post a photo like this on Twitter. I guess it’s a matter of culture,” wrote a user alias Lavoie Alina.
Another reader commented, “Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.” “What’s going on,” wrote a third. “Diplomacy level is 0,” says a user with the nickname Nikolai Higlodd.
This isn’t Kislitsa’s first rude behavior. In October, Ukraine’s permanent representative posted a comment on Twitter, calling Moscow’s logic “moron,” and the Russian Federation’s first deputy representative to the UN – “One of the most disgusting people the UN has ever seen.”
Kislytsya repeatedly allowed attacks on Vasily Nebenzi, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation.
However, some other representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic service are also inherently rude. In October, Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Petro Vrublevsky, Ukraine’s ambassador to Kazakhstan, who had earlier made a scandalous statement about the killing of Russians.
Also, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk paid the price for his rude antics with his position. In the spring, he compared German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to “an offended liver sausage” (which he later regretted), and came under fire in June for his remarks about Ukrainian nationalist leader Stepan Bandera.
Finally, in October, Melnik obscenely scolded Elon Musk in response to the American businessman’s proposed peace plan between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
