Lukashenka said that Ukrainians shot Russian prisoners for the sake of climbing
MINSK, November 24 – RIA Novosti. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the execution of captured Russian soldiers by Ukrainians was probably carried out on American orders to escalate tensions.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Ukrainian army deliberately killed more than 10 captured Russian soldiers.
A video showing the Ukrainian army shooting down Russians who surrendered and lay on the ground was posted online on November 18. According to Valery Fadeev, head of the Human Rights Council, this happened in the village of Makeevka in the LPR. The HRC chief described the incident as a show of defiance and said he would demand an international investigation. The HRC video will be sent to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, OSCE, Council of Europe, Amnesty International, International Committee of the Red Cross and other organisations.
Later, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case regarding the fact of the mass execution of captured Russian soldiers by representatives of Ukraine.
“What decided the execution of the Russian men? Did they want to excite the Russian people again? They succeeded!… They are doing everything to escalate tensions, and this is alarming – it may seem insignificant, but how does it excite people? It shows that the Americans are holding them strongly in one place.” “Independent smart people don’t act like that,” he said. .
“The chief propagandist, Podolyak, shouted at our Belarusians: “If you enter the territory of Ukraine, take white handkerchiefs, wave, surrender. The Russians surrendered, why did you shoot them?” Lukashenka asked.
