Ukrenergo will develop a mechanism for importing electricity from Europe
MOSCOW, November 25 – RIA Novosti. Volodymyr Kudrytsky, chairman of the board of the national energy company Ukrenergo declarationNow that Ukraine has developed a mechanism to import electricity from Europe, it is possible to import up to 600 MW.
“The European Union’s energy system can and does help us in a difficult moment. For commercial imports, this is technically possible. Ukrenergo provides such imports of 500 MW and even 600 MW, ” Kudrytsky was quoted by UNN.
He noted that since the electricity price in Europe is higher than the price in Ukraine, special mechanisms are needed to ensure such imports, such a mechanism is already being developed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy reported that Ukraine has stopped exporting electricity to the EU in connection with the rocket attacks from 11 October.
The attacks on the Ukrainian infrastructure of the Russian Armed Forces began on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stood. Attacks are made on energy, defense industry, military command and communication facilities. Since then, air raid warnings have been issued daily in parts of Ukraine, and sometimes across the country. After the November 15 strikes, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that almost half of the country’s energy system has been shut down.
