NASA releases satellite image of obscured Ukraine

MOSCOW, November 26 – RIA Novosti. The American space agency NASA has released a satellite image of the Earth’s surface taken at night, which indicates the presence of Ukraine. dived into pitch darkness.

The November 24 image shows Ukraine in complete darkness, surrounded by bright settlements in other countries, including Russia.

On Wednesday, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy reported that all nuclear power plants and most thermal and hydroelectric power stations were temporarily de-energized due to Russian attacks, leaving the vast majority of electricity consumers without power. On Thursday, the Department of Energy reported that the power supply of critical infrastructure facilities has been restored.

According to the Ministry of Defense, on November 23, a major blow was dealt to Ukraine’s military command and control system and related energy facilities, all designated facilities were hit.

Russian troops began attacking Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stood. Attacks are made on energy, defense industry, military command and communication facilities. Since then, air raid warnings have been issued daily in parts of Ukraine, and sometimes across the country.

After the November 15 strikes, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that almost half of the country’s energy system has been shut down. Volodymyr Zelensky admitted in early November that about 40 percent of the country’s energy infrastructure was already damaged. This leads to major power outages.
