Defense News: Germany will have to send troops to Ukraine in case of delivery of Patriot air defense systems

MOSCOW, November 29 – RIA Novosti. The Observer wrote that Poland’s offer to transfer the German Patriot air defense systems to Kiev led to Germany’s direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. Defense News Yaroslav Adamovsky.

“This will include sending German soldiers to Ukraine to check the launchers,” he said.

According to the author, Berlin all this time supported Kiev with weapons and military equipment, but kept its armed forces from direct participation in the conflict.

“The implementation of the Polish proposal will force Germany to cross this line,” added the journalist.

Earlier, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht announced an agreement with the Polish side to patrol the airspace with Eurofighter warplanes and deploy Patriot air defense systems in the country.

After that, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Jarosław Kaczynski, chairman of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, and Mariusz Blaszczak, Minister of National Defense of the Republic, offered to deploy the German Patriots in Ukraine, not Poland.

In response, the representative of the German Ministry of Defense, Arno Kollatz, said that Germany intends to leave its air defense system in the NATO air defense system.

After the start of Russian special operations, the United States and its allies began to pump weapons into Ukraine. President Joe Biden signed the Lend-Lease law, Washington allocated tens of billions of dollars to the Kyiv regime. Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that the supply of Western military equipment only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons has become a legitimate target for the Russian army.
