Zelensky rejects a petition calling for military personnel to be discharged after one year of service
MOSCOW, December 1 – RIA Novosti. Volodymyr Zelensky refused a request to allow the demobilization of military personnel who had served one year under martial law, after responding to a petition posted on his website.
In his reply, Zelensky referred to the laws of Ukraine “On military service and military service” and “On mobilization training and mobilization”. the court’s guilty verdict joins legal force and for family reasons.
In response to the petition, Zelensky said, “This means that under the conditions of the legal regime of martial law, the removal from military service on other grounds of mobilized soldiers is not provided.”
In September, a petition was published on Zelensky’s website calling for the limitation of conscription, allowing mobilized soldiers who had served one year to be voluntarily discharged, as well as a respite from the next wave of mobilization, which won 25,000. Signatures required for evaluation.
Previously, the Verkhovna Rada, on the recommendation of Zelensky, extended the period of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for 90 days – until February 19, 2023.
