White House: Biden’s remarks on contacts with Putin do not mean a change of attitude
WASHINGTON, December 2 – RIA Novosti. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday that US President Joe Biden’s statements about the possibility of contact with Russian leader Vladimir Putin do not mean a change in his position on the situation around Ukraine.
According to him, despite the words of the American president about the possibility of contact with Putin, Washington will continue to provide “as much as necessary” assistance to Ukraine, mainly in the field of defense.
After meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron earlier on Thursday, Biden said he has no plans to negotiate with Putin, but is potentially ready if Russia takes the necessary steps to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
