Bloomberg: Musk says Apple continues to advertise on Twitter
MOSCOW, December 4 – RIA Novosti. Billionaire Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, stated that Apple has restarted advertising on the social network, transmits Bloomberg agency.
Musk previously criticized Apple for stopping ads on Twitter, claiming that he “hates freedom of speech in America”. Musk also launched a social media poll on whether Apple should publish a full list of censorship actions affecting its customers, and complained that Apple and Google control access to most of the internet. Among other things, the owner of Twitter said that Apple threatened to remove the social network from the app store, but later received assurances from the company that the social network will remain in the catalog.
Elon Musk said that Apple has “completely restarted” advertising on Twitter and continues to curb the beer war between the world’s two most powerful tech companies.
Bloomberg states that Musk made the announcement over a Twitter Spaces voice chat during the conference. In the same place, the entrepreneur added that Apple is the largest advertiser of the social network.
At the end of October, Musk finally completed the $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter. Widely criticized for severe censorship, the social network has promised to liberalize its editorial policy and create a content moderation council, but don’t make global decisions on posting policy and the restoration of blocked accounts until the council works.
Musk also warned that Twitter will “do a lot of stupid things” in the near future. The company aims to “keep what works and replace what doesn’t.”
