Missile systems of the Pacific Fleet “Bastion” are deployed in the Kuril Islands
MOSCOW, December 5 – RIA Novosti. Coastal missile systems of the Pacific Fleet “Bastion” have been deployed on the island of Paramushir in the Kuril chain, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Monday.
A year ago, in December 2021, the Bastion DBK crew of the Pacific Fleet began duty in the central part of the Kuril ridge on the island of Matua.
“The crew of the Pacific Fleet’s Bastion coastal missile system has been deployed and deployed in the northern part of the Kuril ridge on Paramushir Island. The Pacific Fleet’s coastal missiles will be on 24-hour watch for control of the adjacent water area and strait areas,” the report says.
Equipment, personnel and supplies were delivered to the island by large landing craft of the Primorsky Fleet, consisting of various forces of the Pacific Fleet. Previously, an autonomous military camp was deployed in Paramushir by the forces of the logistical support units of the fleet, where all conditions were created for year-round service, accommodation, rest and food for personnel.
For the operation and maintenance of equipment, equipment for technical posts was installed, storage facilities for equipment and material resources were deployed, and entrances to the starting positions were equipped.
