Armenian Parliament Spokesperson Simonyan said that Yerevan never talked about withdrawing from the CSTO.
MOSCOW, December 5 – RIA Novosti. Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan said on Monday that Armenia has never talked about withdrawing from the CSTO, but that Yerevan is concerned about the organization’s stance towards the republic.
“Azerbaijan violates the ceasefire regime every day and people die as a result. Some of the passivity of the CSTO and the official statements of some of our allies have caused significant changes in the public mood regarding the organization in Armenia,” he said.
“We did not make any statement about the withdrawal from the CSTO, we said that the CSTO has left the region, we are very worried about this. It seems that the territory of Armenia is not of equal strategic importance for the CSTO, close attention is paid to the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the CSTO PA. The speaker, who spoke at the joint meeting of the fifteenth general assembly of ., was paid to the Eastern Europe region and Central Asia.
CSTO PA is an inter-parliamentary cooperation body. Since November 2016, the head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, is the head of the CSTO PA.
Members of CSTO PA are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, the lower house of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, the National Assembly of Serbia. observer status
