CHISINAU, 5 December – RIA Novosti. Moldovan President Maia Sandu did not comment on the situation with rocket fragments found in the Briceni region of the republic on the border with Ukraine, but condemned the missile attack on the infrastructure of the neighboring country.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic informed about a fragment of a rocket discovered in the north of the country, the specialists of the Ministry of Defense, who were supposed to study the object, went to the scene of the crime.
While the official Chisinau did not specify the ownership of the missile, Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa said “republican authorities have the situation under control”.
Moldovan media and local Telegram channels are voicing the version that part of the anti-aircraft missile of the Ukrainian S-300 complex fell on Briceni. Military expert Alexei Leonkov conveyed the same opinion to RIA Novosti, suggesting that the incident was similar to the crash of a rocket in Poland near the Ukrainian border on November 15.
Then two people died. Initially, there were speculations about Russian missiles. But Polish President Andrzej Duda later said he had no proof that the crashed missile belonged to Russia, and that it was “highly likely” to belong to Ukraine’s air defense. NATO also voiced similar data. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that there were no attacks on targets near the Ukraine-Polish border that day.
