CIA officer Giraldi: US troops in Poland could escalate tensions in Ukraine

MOSCOW, December 7 – RIA Novosti. The build-up of US troops in Poland could be the catalyst for a new wave of tensions in Ukraine. retired CIA officer Philip Giraldi interview Judging Freedom YouTube channel.

Journalist Andrew Napolitano asked Giraldi how he evaluated Washington’s deployment of “forty thousand Americans fully armed and ready to attack” in Poland.

“The possibility of events that could lead to misunderstanding between the parties cannot be ruled out. This is an outcome that should be avoided because it will inevitably lead to an escalation of conflict.”

The officer rated the probability of NATO troops crossing the Polish-Ukrainian border as low, but reminded of the danger of such a scenario.

At the same time, the speaker believes that it would be impossible to carry out such a maneuver without being noticed by Russian intelligence. He also added that Moscow would learn of the NATO contingent’s move “in the first minute of their preparation”.

Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24. Against this background, the United States and its NATO allies continue to arm the Kiev regime, allocating tens of billions of dollars for this. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict and that arms shipments have become a legitimate target for the Russian military.
