Soldiers of one of the units of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces opened fire from a heavy flamethrower system (TOS) “Solntsepek” at the fortress of the Ukrainian troops in the Svatov sector of the front in RIA Novosti, Lugansk People’s Republic. correspondent reports.

ZVO units from “TOS-1A” Solntsepek “destroyed the strongholds of Ukrainian militants in the Svatovsky direction,” one of the unit’s fighters told RIA Novosti. According to him, the attack was made in the area where the Ukrainian army was concentrated.

The heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A “Solntsepek” was developed in 2001 on the basis of TOS-1 “Pinocchio”. The system is designed to destroy lightly armored vehicles, vehicles, buildings, fortifications and enemy manpower in them at a distance of up to 6 kilometers.
