State Department: The US sees China as a competitor that can change the current world order
WASHINGTON, December 29 – RIA Novosti. In a statement, Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State Vedanth Patel said that the US sees China as its only rival, which not only changes the current world order, but also builds economic, diplomatic, military and technological power to achieve this goal.
Earlier, US Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman promised that the United States would continue to maintain open lines of communication with China and develop bilateral relations in 2023, based on the meeting of the two leaders in 2022 in Bali. The diplomat added that Washington and Beijing should work together “for the benefit” of people around the world.
The talks, held on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali in November, lasted more than three hours, making it the first face-to-face meeting between Chinese and US leaders Xi Jinping and Joe Biden since Biden took over the US presidency. The President of China and the President of the USA evaluated the bilateral talks in Bali constructively and sincerely and gave instructions on the implementation of the agreements reached and agreed to continue the contacts.
