Government: European Parliament will support Moldova’s path towards European integration
KISINEV, 8 January – RIA Novosti. The press service of the government of the republic said that the European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in the process of European integration.
Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa concluded her working visit to Germany on 8 January, where she attended the Christian Social Union parliamentary group meeting in the Bundestag and met with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
“The European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in the preparation process for accession to the European Union. The steps to be taken by the authorities of the Republic were discussed in the meeting between Gavrilitsa and Metsola in Berlin. The Moldovan prime minister emphasized that the government will take action. At the summit held in Brussels on 23 June last year, the heads of state and government of the European Union approved the granting of candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova to join the union. In October, Moldova hosted the first meeting of the European integration commission, which discussed the need for reforms in various fields and called for the creation of 35 working groups to bring local legislation to European standards.
