Moldovan Prime Minister Gavrilitsa spoke in favor of co-operation with the state of Hesse.

KISINEV, 8 January – RIA Novosti. Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa spoke in favor of developing economic cooperation with the federal state of Hesse (Germany), the press service of the republican government reported on Sunday.

Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa concluded her working visit to Germany on 8 January, where she attended the Christian Social Union parliamentary group meeting in the Bundestag and met with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

“Possibilities to increase cooperation between Moldova and the federal state of Hessen were discussed at a meeting in Germany between the Prime Minister of the country and the Prime Minister of Hesse, Boris Rein. The parties noted the importance of developing bilateral relations at many levels. Gavrilitsa stated that Moldova is interested in attracting investors from Hessian territory He talked about the possibility of expanding cooperation from an economic point of view,” he said.

The government stressed that Moldovan authorities are interested in attracting “new areas of investment, such as pharmaceuticals or electronic products”.

After the meeting, Gavrilitsa thanked the German side for the donation made to the Moldovan police.

“At the meeting, the head of the executive welcomed the cooperation between the Hessian police and the Moldova Main Police Inspectorate, emphasizing the contribution made by the German side to strengthen the potential of the Ministry of the Interior. In the near future, two cars and 100 protective vests from the state of Hessen will be donated to this inspection of the Ministry of the Interior” – Moldova stressed the government.

In April last year, an international conference was held in Berlin where France, Germany and Romania announced the creation of a “Moldova Support Platform”. At that time, nine international organizations and 36 donor countries pledged 695m euros in aid to Chisinau – this involved grants, loans and humanitarian aid. The second meeting of this platform was held in Bucharest in July and the third in Paris in November.
