MOSCOW, January 11 – RIA Novosti. The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that the Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces, Sergei Surovikin, has been appointed deputy commander of the Russian combined forces group as part of a special military operation.
They noted that the Minister of Defense appointed Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, as the new commander of the Russian joint troop group as part of a special operation in Ukraine.
“His deputies are Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force, General of the Army Sergei Surovikin, Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces , Colonel General Alexei Kim,” he said.
