MOSCOW, January 15 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian soldiers confess to leaving Soledar in Donetsk People’s Republic, writes online edition “country.ua”.
“The commander with the call sign Madyar said that the Russians occupied the industrial zone near mine number 7 in Soledar, which was previously held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
The Ukrainian army reported that the front is now outside of Soledar.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky continues to deny the reports that the city is under the control of the Russian army, and it is alleged that the clashes continue.
The operation of Russian troops to liberate Soledar ended on the evening of January 12. The city is important for the continuation of a successful offensive in the direction of Donetsk. It is located in the center of the Artemovsk-Seversk defense line; The Ukrainian army has built strong defensive fortifications here.
As the Russian defense ministry said, the release of Soledar will cut off the supply lines of the AFU group in Artemovsk, block them and lead the enemy troops to the cauldron.
Earlier on Sunday, President Vladimir Putin reported on the positive dynamics of special operations in Ukraine and noted that it is developing within the framework of the plan of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
